What Is A Spiritual Awakening?
Spiritual awakening for me occurred during meditation one night. It was the eve of Halloween and I had sat to meditate as I often did–crosslegged on my bed, with music in the background.
At the time I didn’t know I had gone through an awakening, so afterwards I was pretty shaken up. With time and research I began to learn what I had gone through and began to settle into the changes.
So what is a spiritual awakening?
A spiritual awakening is basically connecting to your feminine powerhouse–your spirit.
You may feel strong, but true strength lies in your ability to know that you are.
With awakening comes great understanding. A knowing that that you are greatness. You are powerful.
“The truth is that the universe has been answering you all of your life, but you cannot receive the answers unless you are awake. ”
― Rhonda Byrne, The Secret
Spiritual awakening is waking up to you. It’s coming into the fullest realization of who you are, without smoke and mirrors. The facade of life goes away and your inner truth is revealed.
This transformation is essential in your growth and in becoming the best possible woman you can be.
Awakening to your Sacred Self allows a deeper trust of yourself, one so profound that no one can push you away from it.
This knowing that you are divine, you are divinity–gives you a foundation to work from. A foundation of strength, peace, and stability. You stop being afraid of life–and instead go after what you want when you want it, because you are doubtless, fearless. You are Divine.
Benefits to Spiritual Awakening For Women
There are a ton of benefits to spiritual awakening, but the biggest ones for women are:
- Female Empowerment (“Yaas Queen!”becomes your mantra)
- Anxiety/Depression Healing
- Self Love (Insecurities begin to melt away)
- Becoming a Better Mother
- Having Deeper Understanding of your Spouse
- Having a Deeper Understanding of your Family Members
- Life becomes less serious (more fun)

Life changes for you because you have changed.
Everything starts to work out–from the plans you make for your next job, to the simple things like finding a sitter for date night at the last minute. Things start working out for you–with ease.
Why? Because your foundation is divinity–it’s source. You discover the all-powerful–all knowing that is within you, and you begin to pay attention to where it guides you to be.
You merge into your Sacred Self, no longer divided.
You and God are one, because you allow your Self to be.
How to Have A Spiritual Awakening: For Women
Now that you have all the benefits of waking up, it’s time to learn the process.
BE all that you know God is.
There are a lot of religions in the world. A lot. But if you dissect them you will find that there is a consensus on a few basic tenets of who God is. The majority of religions believe that God is peace, and love.
After awakening I learned that this was the truth, that love and peace is what God is.
The feelings of peace and love that coarsed through me were undeniable (and once you awaken you will experience the same).
To see these aspects of yourself, you have to start practicing them. Consistently.
Awakening takes work. It takes constant allowance of who you are, even if you don’t have that knowing that God is within you.
You gain the knowing by allowing it in, as much as you possibly can.
View it as a bucket of dirty water. The more clean water you add to the bucket, the less dirty it becomes.
The more love and peace you allow into your life, the more you become it.
I grew up with the Bible, which teaches the same, God is peace and love. As I grew up I practiced living life this way as much as I possibly could.
That meant I practiced forgiveness A LOT. I rested in faith that things would work out A LOT. I loved as much as I could. I gave as much as I could.
I tried my best to be everything I knew God to be, because I wanted to be an example of my mentor–Jesus, and being an example of Jesus meant that I was to be what God was/is.
It took work. It wasn’t easy.
Becoming peace meant I had to find a way to cope with the heavy anxiety I experienced daily, as God had none. I had to forgive all that I perceived was wrong with the world, while at the same time knowing that everything was just the way God meant it to be. Knowing this meant there was no room for resentment or blame, only love.
The first step to spiritual awakening is to be everything you’re becoming.
It takes a lot of work, and that’s why not everyone reaps the benefits of awakening.
But you’re going to go all in, aren’t you? I can feel it!
God is energy–spiritual energy. In order to fully step into that power you have to take it a step further and sit in it. SIT in it.
Meditation is taking the time out of your day to sit and allow that energy to come to the surface–so that you feel it. Sense it. Know it.
Once you begin practicing meditation you begin to feel the peace you are.
After experiencing it on your meditation mat, you take it out into your day. You allow your Sacred Self to step in when anxiety hits, and depression–or anger and stress.
You begin to know what your energy feels like, so it becomes your foundation.
This energy purifies you. It cleans the water in your bucket.
Every time you choose to allow Sacred Self (which you learn by sitting down to meditate) rather than emotions, or thoughts–you choose your power.
Your power gets stronger and stronger with every practice of choosing it, until eventually, it takes you over and you awaken.
So that’s it–two steps. Well, one really. Be all that God is.
Love as much as you can, and then love some more.
Practice peace as much as you can, and then practice peace some more.
Feel that energy–sit in that energy. Become familiar with who you are spiritually.
Practice it, over and over and over and over.
Do the work.
I hope this has helped. If you found this useful, would you mind sharing it with your social circle? Let us all awaken.
